Michelle Obama is explaining her friendship with George W. Bush. In an interview with Bush’s daughter, Jenna Bush Hager, the former first lady said that some of their shared values transcend their differing politics.

“I had the opportunity to sit by your father at interment , the highs and the lows, and we shared stories about our kids and about our parents,” she told Hager. “Our values are the same. We disagree on policy, but we don’t disagree on humanity. We don’t disagree about love and compassion.

I think that’s true for all of us.

It’s just that we get lost in our fear of what’s different” Michelle Obama & George W. Bush Friendship The friendship between the two of them has been well-documented. Last year, Bush was spotting handing her candy at John McCain’s interment in September and again at his father’s cremation in December.

“He has the presence of mind and the sense of humor to bring me a mint,” she later said about the viral moment. “And he made it a point to give me that mint right then and there and that’s the beauty of George Bush.”

During her interview with Hager, Obama also addressed the controversy over Ellen DeGeneres’s friendship with Bush.”You’re friends with both Ellen and my dad, and they sat next to each other which caused some sort of online backlash,” Bush said.

“Your husband recently talked about the dangers of ‘cancel culture.’ What do you say to people that want to be closer with each other?”

Obama replied: “When we drop our guards, we let ourselves become vulnerable, and that vulnerability allows us to share our true stories with each other.”She went on to say that “While one can argue that social media is problematic, it’s also opening people up to new ideas, to each other, to parts of the world.”

Michelle Obama Said She and Barack “Rediscovered” Each Other After Sending Daughters to College”My hope is that [this generation] will be more open-minded and secure in who they are so that they can welcome other people’s stories into the mix. But it has to begin with us,” she added.

Thousands of people receive lung transplants every year, but only around 50% of them survive over 5 years due to lack of research and technology. The Sid Foundation and their brown superhero “Lung Girl” that has been sponsored by Google, Amazon, Trader Joe’s and more, are working to change that by raising funds to support research and development as well as help lung transplant patients live longer and healthier lives.

The Sid Foundation is proud to announce “Lung Girl”, a comic book about a brown superhero girl fighting to help people with lung health issues and lung diseases. The idea of the comic is to provide useful information about lung health, in a fun and exciting way.

Lung Girl, along with her sidekick, Ecmo (a robot with numerous gadgets that aid lung disease sufferer), offers vital information for readers on their adventures in a race against time to help save the world from lung diseases. Sales from the comic book are used to help fund lung transplant research and provide support for lung transplant patients, so everytime you purchase a comic you can be sure that you are the real hero.

According to The National Heart, Lung and fluid Institute, after receiving a lung transplant, only 78% of patients survive the first year, and only 51% live for up to 5 years. Thousands of people receive lung transplants every year. However, lung transplants have the lowest survival rate among all organ transplantation. Lung transplants are more complicated procedures than other organ transplants and because lungs are the only organ in the body that are exposed to the outside environment (air), this makes it easy for patients to get infections.

Not to mention, lung transplant patients have to shell out enormous amounts of money, owed to the fact that insurance usually cannot cover the full cost of treatment as well as the necessary 50 pills a day regiment. clinics don’t have adequate money to do research or develop technology to increase the survival rate for patients and not enough attention is being given to lung transplant patients by other organizations. The Sid Foundation was created to solve this problem and make life better for lung transplant patients everywhere.

The Sid Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization named after Sid Vahal, a young man who caught an infection that destroyed his lungs. He went on to receive a double lung transplant which, unfortunately only allowed him about 2 more years of life. Sid is recognized as a hero who cambated until his last breath. The foundation was established to honor him, along with helping other lung transplant patients survive.

The Sid Foundation has been backed by Google, Amazon Smile, Trader Joe’s, King of Pops, Prime Vice Studios LLC, Kriya Capital, GATP Solutions, and many more organizations. The foundation has over the years helped multiple lung patients and raised over $40,000 dollars for their support as well as support for the research and development of lung transplantation.

They are currently funding research at the University Of Kentucky Lung medicalTransplant Program and have donated thousands of dollars in supplies, otherwise known as care packages, to lung transplant patients all over the United States.

The foundation has also sold and donated hundreds of Lung Girl comic books and merchandise to clinics, schools, libraries, and comic book fans around the world. Lung Girl and The Sid Foundation continue to strive for the betterment of lung transplant patients around the world, but they need your help.

Corey Gamble has been a part of our lives (okay, fine, our DVR recordings) for the better part of five years and yet we know shockingly little about the enigmatic Atlanta native, save for his connection to Kardashian family friend Justin Bieber and his ability to wear a good suit.

Which was precisely Khloe Kardashian’s argument on this summer’s season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians when she, sister Kim Kardashian and brother-in-law Kanye West clashed with momager Kris Jenner about her boyfriend’s secretive tendencies.

“Kanye texts Corey something along the lines of, ‘Look, we don’t know you. We’ve never met any of your family members,” Kim shared. And though she may not have tried such a blunt approach, “I agree with that statement from Kanye,” Khloe shared.

“We don’t know anything about Corey like that.” By the time the closing credits rolled, a few tidbits had been uncovered. For starters, Gamble would prefer to keep some details of his background off millions of TV screens, his tendency for discretion coming from the fact that he has more than a few friends in high places.

“I know a person like me for not talking about other peoples’ business. Or people will call you mysterious if you don’t talk a lot,” he noted during the May episode. “I’ve been so sacred in a lot of significant peoples’ lives and I don’t talk about it, but it’s not my place to talk about it.” The most important truth that was reinforced, though, has never been up for debate. The 39-year-old, who’s described his career succinctly as “just basically making s–t happen in the music industry,” is simply infatuated with the 64-year-old high-powered reality television doyenne.

“Corey is really in love and obsessed with Kris,” a source recently told Us Weekly.

“He always tries to make her happy and be supportive of her.” Because while the woman, who almost single-handedly turned her brood into one of the most well-recognized and eminently marketable families in the entire world, is constantly seeing to the needs of her six off-spring and 10 grandchildren, it’s Gamble who’s constantly telling her, you’re doing amazing, sweetie. “I think that sometimes what you guys don’t realize is that Corey is really taking care of me,” Kris explained to Khloe, enforcing the fact that she and Gamble intend for their partnership to be forever. “Like no one ever has in my entire life.”

Like he has from the very start, when they connected in August 2014 at the Kris Jenner version of meeting through friends, fashion designer Riccardo Tisci’s 40th birthday bash in Ibiza.

At the time, Kris was roughly a year removed from her second marriage to Olympic champ Caitlyn Jenner, enough separation for her to know she might just be ready to let a new someone in. As for Gamble, he was just a guy spying a good looking woman in a fitted LBD. “She had on this nice dress and she was looking good,” he would later recall to Khloe on Keeping Up With the Kardashians of his initial thoughts.

So he bided his time until he caught a rare moment in which she wasn’t socializing with daughters Kim, Kendall Jenner or West, all on hand for the fete, or circulating with the party’s other bold faced names, such as Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Jessica Chastain and Ciara). “I waited until she, you know, was off on her own. I came up and started talking,” he continued. “Then I asked her to come up on the little stage and dance, so we started dancing.” His big move, he shared: “I just tried saying, ‘You’re beautiful. I’d love to get to know you,’ and it went from there.”
Indeed, it did.

By November he was so firmly entrenched, he earned an invite to Kris’ 59th birthday. And by March, he was popping up on the family’s flagship show, an entire episode dedicated to he and Kris’, um, nocturnal activities. (“The bed, like, bangs up against the wall,” houseguest Kim complained. “And I was literally trying to pass out.”) But those heady initial months weren’t all bedroom innuendos, trips to Mexico and double dates with Kyle Richards and husband Mauricio Umansky. Because ever the protective daughters, Khloe and her sisters voiced objections to the man they viewed as an interloper.

“It’s so annoying that my own family is being so judgmental because all I really want to do is live my life,” Kris complained to Keeping Up cameras of fighting for kids’ approval. The way Khloe saw it, though, she never imagined the first guy her mom truly dated would be a keeper. “I was like, ‘Okay, this probably isn’t going to last,'” she explained. “I just didn’t feel the need to get that connected or attached.” By the time she realized she had misjudged the situation, “We tried to get to know him, but he has not been receptive in this whole thing.”

He shared enough to get along, reassuring Khloe and close pal Malika Haqq in one 2015 episode that he’d never been to lock up (“Nah. I ain’t mister perfect, none of that type of stuff. No trouble that’s a disrespect or threat to another human,”) and telling Kendall in another that “being with your mom is better than being with any chick my age or younger. I think we do more than you younger girls do.” The deep stuff, though, that was saved for Kris.

Together, they decided they would both prefer to pass on marriage (“I just think as long as things are going so well, why ruffle it up?” she reasoned to Ellen DeGenres while he told Khloe, “I don’t think love is measured by that piece of paper because I know people that are not married that are strong,”) and that they didn’t need children together, Gamble having satisfied that particular itch by helping raise his nieces and nephews. And they both hard agreed that their 25-year age difference was simply a non-issue. “It’s not even an age factor,” he explained on the show, “it’s just a connection.”

There’s was a bond that didn’t rely heavily on endless commonalities. But the self-made San Diego-raised mogul and the Georgia-bred music industry player aren’t nearly as disparate as they might appear at first glance. While Gamble wasn’t a household name back when he and Kris shared that first dance in Spain, Bieber’s onetime road manager, was enough of a known entity to gain entree to the star-studded party in the first place. So if he and Kris weren’t necessarily on the same level, they were at least in the same room. And in the years since he’s proven himself a worthy adversary for the impressive matriarch.

Having studied business marketing at Morehouse College, he’s built up his own fortune (a net worth estimated at $2.5 million) and a refined taste to match his lady’s. “We do the art thing,” Gamble has shared of their typical date nights at dinners and gallery openings. “We do, you know, she like to do her shopping deal.” And they’ve proven quite the force on the red carpet, the couple having become regulars at the Met Gala, in Cannes and at various benefits and fashion shows. Not that they need all the trappings that accompany such public lives to feel content in their partnership.

“I don’t really care what we do,” he has proclaimed on Keeping Up. “When we hanging, we hanging, the scenery don’t really matter. I like being with her, so it’s cool.” Which is pretty much the perfect way to sum up their whole relationship: They like being together, so it’s cool. Asked about next steps involving an oversized left hand ring and a white veil occasion, Kris told attorney Laura Wasser on her Divorce Sucks podcast, “You know, you never say never, but I often say it’s just not what I think I need to do again based on my past.” Continued the twice-wed star, “I’m in a really great relationship right now, and I’m happy and I don’t want to mess that up.

I don’t have the need to put on a long, white dress and walk down an aisle. I’ve done that. I’ve had the big wedding, I’ve had the babies and the kids—six of them, by the way. It’s not like we need to do that again; my body wouldn’t cooperate if I wanted it to. I think that I just feel really grateful and blessed for my past experiences and I’m looking forward to my future.” Because at the end of the day, whatever Gamble has or has not put out in the public domain, it’s Kris who has the final word on his place in the Kardashian pantheon. As Khloe told her mom during their May heart-to-heart, “I want you to be happy.

And I don’t care who you’re with as long as they’re good to you….You have to live your life for you and be happy and if you are, that’s great. I support you and I want you to feel like we’re happy for you, because we are.” And Kris is decidedly blissed out. “He’s great. Corey is so easy and, at the same time, so smart and intelligent,” she told Us Weekly last year of why he’s worthy of being on her arm. “He’s always one step ahead of me, and he loves the kids, and the kids love him, and he loves the grandchildren. He really is such a great guy.” A smart guy who treats her well and embraces her collection of kids and grandkids as his own? That’s a pretty nice happy ending for this modern love story.

Riley Burruss may only be an intern at a New York City law firm, but thanks to her millionaire mom, Kandi Burruss, best believe the 17-year-old has already gotten a taste of the Big Apple’s high-life! While most teens who secure a summer internship have to nickel and dime to live out their career dreams, Kandi revealed on the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta that her daughter—who was 16-years-old at the time—lived in a luxe two-bedroom apartment during her NYC stay.

“Wow, Riley,” Kandi said, touring her daughter’s new abode, which featured a view of the city skyline and a massive rooftop sundeck. “You are living the life, little girl.” Also observing the stylish pad was Kandi’s husband, Todd Tucker, their 3-year-old son, Ace, and Todd’s 23-year-old daughter, Kaela.

Take a look at the $5,547 per month luxury apartment that has Kandi saying, “She moving on up, like the Jeffersons.”

According to Kandi, she has been preparing herself, as well as Riley, for the big move. “I’ve been kind of grooming Riley to be away from me,” she said, noting her daughter previously stayed at Stanford University alone.

Still, Riley had some adjusting to do, like learning how to clean her own bathroom and figuring out what to do with ice cube trays in the freezer. “I thought every freezer had ice makers,” Riley confessed. “I always make this joke with her [that] she’s like the kids from Black-ish,” Kandi said.

“She’s a privileged black kid who’s not really in tune to certain things.” “Am I gonna have a tipping allowance?” Riley inquired when her doorman arrived with her bags.“You’re lucky you got an allowance,” Kaela said.

“I’ve never had an allowance in my life. When Riley questioned how her stepsister got money, she responded, “’I worked in the summers.” According to Kandi, “Todd is definitely more strict than me,” adding, “Todd is like, ‘You’re not supposed to have these things at this age,’ whereas me, I’m like, ‘As long as you’re doing good in school, then you can have it.’ ”Kandi and Todd married in April 2014 with a lavish Coming to America-themed wedding ceremony.

When it comes to success, age really is just a number. 28-year-old, Jade Colin is McDonald’s youngest Black franchise owner in the country. “My business is truly a blessing.

It was never something I would have ever thought I would be doing,” says Jade. The native New Orleanian’s relationship with McDonald’s began when her parents purchased their first restaurant in 2010. Nearly days after graduating from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a bachelors in Business Management in 2012,

Jade jumped right into the family business. “I started working in the restaurants learning McDonald’s procedures and policies.”Eventually, Jade decided to apply for the Next Generation program for children of McDonald’s owners. For two years, she endured the intensive training program. During the first year, she received the Outstanding Restaurant Manager of the Year Award for her region. In year two, she outperformed not only the region but the country and received the Ray Kroc Award. The Ray Kroc Award recognizes the top 1% Restaurant Managers in the country.

After graduating from Hamburger University and completing interviews with McDonald’s corporate executives, in 2016, at the age of 26, Jade Colin became McDonald’s youngest Black franchise owner. Jade’s advice for those trying to find or figure their passion, “Take the risk and know that it will be a lot of hard work.

Pray about it. God sends everyone on a different journey in life. As you build your relationship with Him he will help lead and guide you in the right direction.” She also credits much of her success to having had generous mentors. “Network and have a core team of genuine mentors. You need people who are in your corner that will positively motivate you.

I say genuine because not everyone will have your best interest at heart,” says Jade. Jade’s biggest inspiration is her parents. In 2010, they opened their first McDonald’s franchise and now they own six. She credits her parents for paving the way for generational wealth in their family.

According to the recent study of the ethnic wealth-gap released this week by the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) and the Corporation For Economic Development (CFED), the average black household will need 228 years to accumulate as much wealth as their white counterparts hold today. Jade’s parents worked full-time jobs and sometimes second jobs. As an African American community, we need more men and women to know it’s not just about right now but it’s about the generations to come, says Jade.

Sasha, an 8-month-old pit bull, was sitting outside of her Stockton, California, home Sunday, June 3 when flames began to engulf the apartment building. Sasha’s owner, Nana Chaichanhda, and her baby were inside.

The quick-thinking dog jumped into action, alerting Chaichanhda about the flames. The flames eventually destroyed most of the four-plex, but not before Sasha helped get her family out.

“June 3, 2018, I was awaken by my pit bull pup Sasha banging and crying at my backyard door.

Little did I know, Sasha would become my hero,” Chaichanhda wrote on a GoFundMe page intended to raise money after losing her home. “My neighbors home was totally destroyed, and it was quickly spreading to my unit,” the mother wrote. “[Sasha] was trying to warn us of the flames. I got out of bed to see what was going on.

At that moment I opened the back door and Sasha ran into our home, straight into our bedroom.” Chaichanhda said at first she was confused, then realized her cousin’s apartment, which was right next door, was up in flames. “I ran into the bedroom, where Sasha was already dragging my 7-month-old baby off the bed by her diaper,” she wrote. “Thanks to Sasha we were able to get out safe and call 911.” Firefighters arrived on the scene and were able to save most of the building.

Chaichanhda and her cousin’s apartment were destroyed. The family is now staying with relatives who live in one of the surviving apartments, CBS affiliate WTVR-TV reports. Chaichanhda says it’s because of Sasha that she and her baby are safe, and she hopes her story helps change the negative perception of pit bulls. “I owe her everything. If it wasn’t for her, I would have still been in bed and things could have taken a worse turn,” she said.

A father-of-three has penned a letter to his childless self about how to be a supportive partner to his wife after having a baby. Ted Gonder, 29, from Chicago, Illinois, took to social media last month to share five things men can do to help their wives postpartum, and his inspiring words have turned him into a viral star.

‘I’m now 29 and have 3 kids with my wife Franziska who carried and birthed them all like a pro,’ he wrote at the start of his post.

‘Here’s what I would tell my childless 24-year-old self about how to be a supportive partner during the “becoming parents” phase.’ The photo Ted shared along with his message shows him holding his baby in a carrier on his chest, and his first piece of advice was about doing just that.

‘Wifey carried baby IN her belly for 9 months. So you carry baby ON your belly for 9 months every chance you get. Not only does it help her recover but it bonds you to your kid more than imaginable,’ he explained.

Ted’s wife Franziska gave birth to their third child in August, and he went on to share other things men can do to ease the burden that falls on new moms. ‘Wifey is B-feeding and—while beautiful and fulfilling for her—it’s exhausting. So you change EVERY diaper you can. From diaper 1 onward. You will get over the grossness fast,’ he insisted. ‘And you will prevent imbalances and resentment in the relationship; in fact, when all your wife’s friends are complaining about how absent and unsupportive their husbands are, your wife will be bragging about you.’

In addition to helping take care of the baby, Ted shared a reminder about the importance of tending to your wife’s needs as well. ‘Make her the decaf coffee every morning,’ he wrote. ‘Even if she leaves it cold and forgets to drink it most mornings because she falls back asleep while you’re working or (later) taking the kids to school. She was up all night feeding the baby so help start her day in a way that helps her reset.’

Ted stressed that new moms should be told they are beautiful postpartum because it is a time when they are feeling the ‘hopeless’ about their bodies. ‘Remind her of times when she achieved goals in the past. Remind her she is a superhero,’ he said. ‘She literally just moved all her organs around and gained 20 kilograms to give you a child that will be a gift to you for the rest of your life. Help her see past her body image issues and stay focused on a positive goal, one day at a time.’

Ted’s final piece of advice was to be understanding when it comes to your partner’s outbursts, no matter how out of line they may seem. ‘Take the heat. Hormones are crazy, both pre and post birth,’ he explained. ‘She won’t seem like herself every day and sometimes she will say things she wouldn’t say if she didn’t feel like she was hungover, caffeinated, and on steroids every day.

‘Remember your job is to be her rock through all of this, so toughen up and keep perspective when her tongue is sharper than you know her best self intends,’ he added. ‘Normal will return soon and you want her to be grateful that you kept it together when she wasn’t, not resentful and disappointed that you hijacked her emotions by making her problems yours.’

Ted’s post has bag a chord with many parents, particularly mothers, and it has been shared more than 56,000 times since September 18.

Many women tagged their husbands in the comments section in the hope that they would read Ted’s letter and heed his advice. Others opened up about how they still resent their partners for not doing enough to help them during such a difficult time in their lives.

‘Well, 30 years married and two great kids (you know one, Madison), I still found myself shedding a tear or two reading this since the resentment due to not getting my needs met exactly as you have outlined is really hard to let go,’ one woman commented. ‘I’m trying. Keep writing and keep leading the pack.’ ‘Bless you. I had, well, a husband who did the opposite of all of your advice when my only child was born. I survived but to this day, 8 years later, I carry grief with me around it,’ another wrote.

‘Thank you for showing us all how it is done.’ Ted told Good Morning America that he was lucky to be able to spend several weeks on paternity leave, during which he was able to help care for his newborn as well as their one-year-old and four-year-old.

‘Those few weeks provided a chance to reflect on how much I’ve learned on the beautiful battlefield of parenting in the first few years,’ he said.

He explained that it has been hard for him to find ‘good dad advice’ over the years, so he felt inclined to write about what he would tell his younger self. Ted said most of the comments came from women tagging their male partners to thank them for being ‘their rock,’ though there were those who shared how a lack of support ended up ruining their relationships.

‘I think a lot of people also shared the post because they’re outraged that so many women go through pregnancy, birth, and recovery totally alone when their male partners could be doing more,’ he said. Unsurprisingly, his wife Franziska was a fan of the post. ‘We’ve talked about many of these points with friends over the past few years, so I think she appreciated me sharing them in writing,’ he said.

Instead of graduating from high school, Brittany Reaves, 18, is planning to go through the process with Fayetteville State University student as Magna Cum Laude. She said in an interview that I just had wonderful people who gave me great opportunities.

Her mother described her as a creative girl who learned to read when she was three years old. Now she is bringing her talent to North Carolina Central to obtain her degree in law.

If she leaves NCCU in a year or three, she plans to pursue a career as a civil litigation attorney after she graduates. Reaves ‘ attributes her performance to her village’s support and hard work.

Moving into civil litigation right now simply because it is an area that deals with knowledge and protection for customers.

Landlord-tenant-those kinds of cases do with individuals and rules have a bit to do with people, “Reaves said. Reaves would transform the tassel into maturity this weekend.” I have booksmarts but I’m 18, I don’t understand anything, “Reaves said.

Parenting is never a walk in the park, but the craft seems to be perfected by some men. It’s not always what many parents want to be able to live a life that can encourage your children to work hard to become like you.

Kids gorge their own paths in life in most societies–even if they are directed by their family. Yet one Nigerian-American family has accomplished an incredible goal, causing a storm on social media after all the four children in the family have become doctors like their father.

This can be considered one of the best goals of the community –but only achievable through dedication and outstanding skills. Now that all the kids have become physicians, a Nigerian-American family is making a huge buzz in social media and the medical field. It was not an easy task to do, but they were all able to succeed with tremendous dedication and extraordinary skill.

Family objectives certainly! Their uncle, Herbert Oye, who is also a physician, left Nigeria in the 1970s in search of a greener pasture in the United States. He attended medical school and worked hard in West Virginia to eventually open up his own practice of vascular surgery. He then moved to Nigeria, establishing a ho-spital.

Of addition, he was motivated by his four siblings— David, Monique, Michele, and Melissa Oye — and they all wanted to become physicians. We certainly don’t have their own procedures, but that’s their ultimate objective. While, in Beckley, West Virginia, their uncle is still a practicing doctor. His specialty focuses on different treatments, including specialized wound care, endovascular surgery, vascular surgery, and more.

I have already mentioned in a number of my contents earlier about the strange and weird things that take place in our lives and we do not realize or take notice but they are very significant role in our lives.

We have heard about the faithful friend of the human is the dog and that goes without any glitch. The dog is famous for its sixth sense that the God has given to him. He can smell the lurking risky from a distance and can raise an alarm to alert the undoubting human about the risk.

Many experts of dogs can just find out by the way a dog flicks its ears or moves its eyes or by the movement of its neck that something near is wrong and they become alert before it is too late and many lives are saved. There are trained sniffer dogs in the armed forces who can sniff dynamite or RDX and can also sniff out soldiers who are hided in the snow on icy heights.

Of all the dog senses, a dog who was a pet to a pregnant woman had by her sixth sense had found out that the lady was suffering from kidney problems even though the doctors had ignored the back pain as for the side effects of pregnancy. The bi-tch kept crying at the sight of the lady and also kept staring at the lady when she was at her home sitting on the sofa.

She had smelt that something was wrong with the lady and she was restless after that and was somehow trying to communicate the same to the lady that she should go to the doctors for a serious checkup. And she was right, the lady was diagnosed with severe kidney problem which was at first just for some side effect of the pregnancy.
