Since giving birth to sextuplets at the Texas Woman’s medical institution in Houston in just under nine minutes, a new mom is making headlines this week! Shortly after birth, the medical institution posted a picture of Thelma Chiaka, now famous on social media (because, I think, HOLY COW).
-infant weighed in at just under 2 pounds, and all are currently in stable condition in the NICU, where Chiaka’s medical team closely tracks them.

The chances of a good sextuplet birth are so low that they do not make headlines each day— and yeah, they even earn their own TLC shows occasionally.
John and Kate Gosselin, who added six new babies to their four-family and seemingly overnight f-ired to worldwide fame, were raised the most popular sextuplets of all in 2004. A film on the story of the family soon led to a series of reality, John & Kate Plus 8, that offered a snapshot of what multiple existence really is like.
In 2017, the show was cancelled. But the Gosselin group isn’t the only headline-making sextuplet community out there— just this fall, after several miscarriages, Alabama couple Courtney and Eric Waldrop welcomed sextuplets. But get this: to three boys they were already family, taking their grand total to nine babies. (NINE!)
